Inhouse Committee Meetings Summary
The In-House Practice Committee hosted two roundtable discussions this spring. On April 20, the Committee led a lively conversation on external resources for supporting in-house practice. Participants shared information about external resources that they found to be helpful in their practice, including resources for shadow dockets, patent databases, cybersecurity, and more. On June 23, the Committee hosted an active and genial conversation on shaping a culture of IP awareness in-house and techniques for capturing innovation. Participants discussed strategies for training researchers on intellectual property issues, best practices for integrating in-house IP practitioners into research teams for innovation capture, and ways to motivate researchers to come forward with potential inventions. The BPLA and the In-House Practice Committee thanks the attendees for making the events a success and looks forward to additional brown bag discussions over the year.
