Summer 2016 -

Our summer issues highlights the showcase event of the year—the Annual Dinner to Honor the Federal Judiciary—and dives into some of the most recent developments on the § 101 front, including articles analyzing cases in which subject matter eligibility was deemed to exist (
Enfish
and
BASCOM
), and those in which it was not (
TLI
and
Sequenom
, the latter of which the BPLA filed an amicus brief in support of Sequenom’s Petition for Cert). Damages are also a hot topic as of late, as evidenced by the articles about
Halo
and Federal Circuit royalty cases. This issue also contains an article about sequence listing, one about the case that wasn’t—
Cuozzo
, information about a new expedited procedure at the USPTO for cancer immunotherapy patent applications, and an article about patent agent privilege in the U.S. and Canada. I hope our members have found some time to relax and enjoy their summer, and look forward to seeing our members out-and-about as the fall is in full swing before we know it.
