Diversity & Inclusion Committee Presentation: “Introduction to Careers in IP Law”

On November 15, 2023, the BIPLA’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee presented a panel at BC Law entitled “Introduction to Careers in IP Law.”  The panelists were BIPLA members MaryLou Wakimura of Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds, Valarie Rosen of Cabot Corporation, and Quincy Kayton and Anant Saraswat of Wolf Greenfield.  The panelists discussed their paths to their careers in IP law, the day-to-day work for lawyers in different types of IP law and different practice settings, opportunities for IP lawyers to serve the community through pro bono work, and ongoing efforts by various stakeholders in the IP community to increase diversity & inclusion in the IP field.  The panel was co-hosted by BC Law’s Program on Innovation and Entrepreneurship and BC Law’s IP and Technology Forum.  The panel was moderated by Professor Sandy Tarrant of BC Law.
