Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the Fall 2020 Edition of the BPLA Newsletter.
In this edition, we provide a recap of the BPLA’s tenth annual Invented Here! Awards ceremony, an update on the European Patent Office’s virtual hearing procedures, an analysis of trends in Japanese biotechnology research and patents, and an analysis of the USPTO’s recent report on policy issues relating to Artificial Intelligence.
As this marks our fourth and final newsletter for 2020, the BPLA extends a hearty thanks to all of our contributors this year. Thank you for your insightful and relevant commentary on intellectual property issues throughout the world. I would also like to thank the BPLA’s administrator, Constance Brennan, and the staff of Readz for all their help in preparing the newsletter this year.
Best regards,
Keith Toms Editor-In-Chief
