On Friday, September 14, 2018, the International and Foreign Practice Committee were honored to welcome a delegation headed by Deputy Director General Zhang Chunping of the Jiangsu Province (China) Intellectual Property Office for a breakfast mixer held at Finnegan's office at the Seaport. The delegation included members of the Intellectual Property Offices and Science and Technology Bureaus of Jiangsu Province, Nanjing, as well as the cities of Nantong, Xuzhou, Zhenjiang, Wuxi, Huai'an and Yangzhou. Representatives from the China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Tech University, Yangzhou University and Changzhou University were also among the delegation. The delegation and BPLA members had the opportunity to converse in English and Chinese, at times with the assistance of an official interpreter as well as bilingual guests. Attendees were also given bilingual presentations on international patent litigation by guest speaker Chen Zang of Finnegan and US trademark efforts against bad faith and false filings by Yinfei Wu, also of Finnegan. Mr. Zang and Ms. Wu are both natives of Jiangsu Province.
