And, finally, a nod to retiring U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. Though he was born in California, we in the BPLA proudly claim his as one of our own thanks to his long and illustrious time on the First Circuit Court of Appeals from 1980 to 1994—the last four years as its chief judge. Ok, and maybe just a bit because of his time at Harvard Law School. His record during his eighteen years on the U.S. Supreme Court is too long to parse in this short message. Instead, we simply thank him for his decades of service, performed always with grace and good faith.
