Message from the Editor
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the Winter 2025 Edition of the BIPLA Newsletter.
The BIPLA had a busy fall program, and this newsletter brings reports of events sponsored by the International and Medical Device Committees, the Antitrust Committee, and Invented Here! The minutes of the annual meeting are also provided. The annual meeting is a much more festive event than the minutes would imply and we encourage you to join us at this year’s annual meeting. In addition, we are delighted to publish one of the winning essays from the 2024 writing contest.
In this issue, the BIPLA Board of Governors presents a statement on the potential for recent U.S. policy changes to harm both the United States Patent and Trademark Office and American innovation more broadly.
I would like to thank BIPLA’s Events and Communications Manager Spencer Jawitz and the staff at READZ for their help in compiling and publishing this issue of the Newsletter. The deadline for submissions for the spring issue will be early to mid-April. In addition to contributions from the BIPLA community, it will also include a recap of our Symposium coming up on April 2 and 3. More details of the symposium program are available on our website at bipla.org.
