International & Foreign Practice Committee: Inventing the Invention Story

The International & Foreign Practice Committee presents "Inventing the Invention Story" Brown-Bag Lunch event on November, 12, 2025 from 12-2pm at WilmerHale.

Presenting will be Gareth Morgan; Partner, Pinset Masons. Gareth will discuss Lifting the hood of the global Xarelto litigation. A look at the challenges brought against the invention story that won the day before the European Patent Office’s Boards of Appeal and its slow unraveling across multi-jurisdictional litigation. Gareth is a life sciences litigation-focussed lawyer with unparalleled experience in the European legal profession acting across the life sciences sector. As a dual qualified UK and Irish solicitor, he has acted on many leading cases in the English Patents Court, Administrative Court, UK appeal courts and, the EU courts in Luxembourg. He is also a UPC representative and is active in the Unified Patents Court. Gareth is unique in his ability to get results for clients in contract disputes, patent and SPC cases and, judicial review/regulatory and market access challenges. A number of the cases issued this year mark the first time proceedings of the type have ever been brought. Gareth’s practice marries a unique mix of high-profile international generic and originator clients across multiple different practice areas and is a testament to the skill set he brings to client projects.
