Message from the Editor-in-Chief
Happy Spring, and welcome to the second issue of the BPLA Newsletter 2017!
I am delighted to say that this issue is chock-full of interesting information regarding recent BPLA news, as well as national and international intellectual property law updates and analysis.
With regard to the BPLA, check out articles and updates regarding the PTAB and TTAB Proceedings Hosted by BPLA and Suffolk University Law School, the BPLA amicus brief in Wi-Fi One, LLC v. Broadcom Corp, committee updates, the moot court competition, and the upcoming Invented Here! and writing competitions.
I was pleased to represent the BPLA at a March 1st meeting bringing together Massachusetts court chiefs and bar association leaders at the John Adams Courthouse. At the event, Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Ralph Gants spoke about upcoming challenges with respect to budget concerns, legal service funding, and preservation of the rule of law in Massachusetts.
On a federal level, check out the articles providing analysis and advice regarding IP due diligence and notice requirements, Federal Trade Secret Protection, and willful Infringement and enhanced damages after Halo, as well as trademarks and bankruptcy. On an international level, be sure to check out updates in this issue regarding Chinese life sciences and European patent litigation.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the BPLA Annual Dinner in Honor of the Federal Judiciary on Judge’s Dinner on May 12th!
Your trusty Editor-in-Chief
,
Deirdre E. Sanders
