Womble Bond Dickinson has strengthened its robust Boston-based Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sector Team with the addition of attorney Dominic J. Yee, Ph.D.

Yee focuses his practice on patent prosecution and portfolio management for the pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences industries. In addition, he guides clients in IP issues related to mergers and acquisitions, secured lending transactions, development agreements, technology licensing and other corporate transactions.

Yee has a research background in chemistry and biochemistry, having earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University. Before law school, he worked with Nobel laureate Roger Tsien on nanoparticle conjugates for detecting and delivering drugs to disease sites. He also spent more than three years as a formulation development scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

Yee currently serves as co-chair of the Chemical Practices Committee of the Boston Patent Law Association. He was previously with Jones Day.
