The BPLA hosted its annual seminar on the Madrid International Trademark System and Patent Cooperation Treaty on October 31, 2019 and November 1, 2019.
A half-day session addressing Madrid practices and procedures was delivered by Ms. Nadine H. Jacobson of Fross Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu, P.C., who was selected by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for this year’s seminar. Ms. Jacobson provided an interactive experience for attendees, mixing instruction with practical problem-solution exercises.
A full-day session on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) was delivered by Mr. Matthias Reischle-Park, Deputy Director of the PCT Legal and User Relations Division at WIPO. Mr. Reischle-Park provided attendees with extensive information on international processes and best-practices.
The sessions are geared towards attorneys, administrators, and paralegals seeking to learn or refresh their knowledge of international trademark and patent practices. Both sessions provide an opportunity for attendees to not only receive up-to-date practical instruction, but also to learn directly from experts in the fields.
The BPLA is honored to have been joined by Mr. Reischle-Park and Ms. Jacobson and thankful to Nutter McClennen & Fish for hosting for this year’s seminar at its offices.
